If there was ever something to celebrate, it’s being pregnant and creating a new human. Sod’s law that you may not feel like the life and soul at that time. Check out these 5 tips on partying with poise.

 Bond with the Barman

If it’s early days and you’ve not told your friends you’re expecting yet, a good tip is to get the barman on side. Simply asking for your lemonade to be served in a gin glass with ice and fruit will not only distract your friends but will make you feel in the party mood too.

2.  Locate the Loo

Pregnancy isn’t easy on your bladder so locating the toilets early on will eliminate any feelings of panic when the urge hits.

3.  Bag the Best Seats

You don’t want to be standing up all night so if you’re heading out to a bar, ring ahead and book a table with seats. If you’re at a family house party, commandeer the couch. You are growing a little human and deserve the best seat in the house.

4.   Food Glorious Food

You can’t drink but you can live the food dream. Work out what food you need to avoid - check on the NHS website if you’re not sure. Then, hit that buffet. You’re building a baby and may need dancefloor energy too.

5.  Backdoor It

Partied out? Dreaming of your pregnancy pillow? Make your escape with a fuss-free exit. You’ve got the ultimate excuse. Remember to let at least one person know you’re heading off as you don’t want their party to become a search party.
