We are all creative. There. Said it. There’s no copyright on creativity. It’s just a fact of being human. The stereotypical concept of the ‘creative type’ personality can alienate people from seeing their own creative power. Bypass that myth for the sake of the littl’uns. Check out these tricks to unleash their innate creativity…

A Creative Space

Having a designated space for creating is a great way for littl’uns to boost their creativity. Research shows that children are happier, calmer and have better attention spans when they have less clutter.  There’s your excuse to reign in the pots of paint and sea of pens. For budding artists, less is more.

Cupboards of Creativity

Pass a child an empty toilet roll tube and watch the endless games unfold. Using household objects such as pots and pans is not only free but it also allows your child to really get creative with their playing. Make believe matters. Plus that’s hours of fun straight out of the cupboards.

Once Upon a Time

Storytelling is a great way to boost your child’s imagination and creativity. A great way to start is by reading a variety of different stories to your child at a specific time of the day, bedtime for example.  This provides a creative routine, ensuring it’s not overlooked. Or you could prompt your child to tell a story about their day or one of their favourite toys using a familiar story prompt like ‘Once upon a time’, or ‘long ago and far away’ or ‘you may be wondering how I got here in a saucepan that’s a spaceship.’

Start ‘em Young

It’s never too early to fire their imagination. At Cosatto, we've always believed in the power of pattern to engage your baby and promote happiness. Our travel systems put your baby at the heart of visual systems. Bold, bright and carefully placed, our baby-friendly characters and patterns aim to harness your baby's early sensory skills.

Above all it’s about having fun. We’re nosy and would love to hear some of your own creative catalysts.
