Exercise can be tough when pregnant but simply walking more is a great way to keep active and feel good too. Check out these 3 reasons to dust off the walking boots and get out more. Before you know it you'll have a littl'un in tow.

1.) Low-Impact

Pregnancy and energy are two words that don't go together. In fact the sickness, hormone surges and weight of your growing little one can leave you wanting to spend your free time with your feet up on the couch. Whilst this is totally fine, it's also good to add in some low-impact weekly walks. Getting fresh air is also proven to give you that little boost of energy you might be lacking.

2.) Helps You Sleep

A walk outdoors in the morning can be a great way to make you feel more energised for your day ahead, preparing you for a restful night's sleep come night time.

3.) Mood Boosting

Lots of different forms of activity can lower stress levels and elevate mood, which makes it easier to fall asleep. That's a great excuse to get outdoors and get those endorphins flowing, leaving you feeling great.

Top Tips for Walking Whilst Pregnant

  1. Wear comfortable shoes.
  2. Avoid walking in hot weather – try going out early or late in the day when it's cooler.
  3. Take water and snacks with you.
  4. Listen to your body. Don't overdo it.
